A toy that intrigues the baby without driving the parent nuts., By This review is from: Baby Einstein Count and Compose Piano (Baby Product) My 10 month old likes high stimulus, so she seems to get bored with her toys quickly and doesn't think much of toys that don't DO something. This piano has a lot going on and so far it's been enough to keep her entertained better than any other toy. Primarily I like its design. The 'composer' function doesn't just play one song quickly, repeatedly and loudly as most piano toys with some kind of 'demo' function do. When the baby hits a key, it plays one phrase. The next time a key is pressed gets another musical phrase. It's pleasant to listen to, you aren't left with one short tune running through your head and there's seven different melodies. In short, it seems like someone put some thought into what would make a piano toy fun and interesting to play with. It doesn't feel like it's been dumbed down on the assumption that parents don't care and babies don't know the difference. 119 of 121 people found the following review helpful: Great toy with one design flaw, This review is from: Baby Einstein Count and Compose Piano (Baby Product) This is a fun little toy that my 6-month old son enjoys playing with. As another reviewer mentioned, one of the great things about this piano is how varied the melodies are. Not only does it play classical pieces but your child can compose his/her own music as well, which means mom and dad don't have to hear the same melody over and over and over... big plus! The one down-side is that the speaker is on the bottom of the toy, which means that if your child doesn't hold the piano on his/her lap while playing with it the sounds is very muffled. My son still likes to play with it - muffled sounds and all - but I can't help marveling that the designers put the speaker in such an unfavorable location. Einstein would blush to know that such an obvious design flaw was incorporated into a product with his name on it! 45 of 45 people found the following review helpful: My 7 month old son loves this piano!!, By S.R.S "Mom of 1" (New York, NY USA) - See all my reviews This review is from: Baby Einstein Count and Compose Piano (Baby Product) This is a great interactive toy for babies who love music.....Especially when they are learning to sit up on their own and good for tummy time too. It lights up and has 3 different play modes, sounds, and languages. It's not too loud, holds thier attention span, teaches them to push the buttons to get it to play, and is small so it can go to Grandma's for a weekend. My son loves the little spinner with the beads too. One thing you should know is, if your child is strong or plays rough and is active as mine,(he is only 7 months old and a big boy!) the piano is hard plastic with some weight to it and well, you get the idea! |
